1. Informações que coletamos

We collect only what is necessary to run PDF Genie:

• Account info — if you sign up: email address, display name, and profile photo URL from your identity provider (Google, Apple, or email/password).
• Usage counters — number of tool operations per day, used to enforce the Free plan’s 10-per-day limit.
• Billing info — if you subscribe to Pro, we store a Stripe customer ID and subscription status. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.
• Files you upload — for server-side conversions (Office ↔ PDF), files are processed in memory and on ephemeral disk, then deleted immediately after conversion. For browser-based tools, your files never leave your device.
• Analytics — page views and tool-usage events via Google Analytics / Firebase Analytics. No file content is ever transmitted to analytics.
• Technical data — IP address (used for rate-limiting), browser user-agent, and standard HTTP access logs.

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
• To enforce daily usage limits and prevent abuse;
• To process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe;
• To send transactional emails (account verification, receipts);
• To measure aggregate usage and improve tool quality (analytics);
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your uploaded files to train any machine-learning models.

3. Terceiros com quem compartilhamos dados

We rely on the following sub-processors to operate the Service:

• Google / Firebase — authentication, Firestore database, Analytics, and Cloud Run hosting.
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
• Google AdSense — ad delivery on the Free plan. Ad cookies are disabled for Pro users.

Each sub-processor handles data under its own privacy terms and applicable data-protection law.

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

• Essential — to keep you signed in and remember your session.
• Analytics — Google Analytics / Firebase Analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage.
• Advertising — Google AdSense cookies to serve relevant ads on the Free plan. Removed for Pro subscribers.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may break the Service.

5. Retenção de dados

• Uploaded files: deleted immediately after server-side conversion completes (browser-based tools keep files only on your device).
• Account data: retained while your account is active. Deleted upon request or within a reasonable period after account closure.
• Billing records: retained as required by applicable tax and accounting law (typically up to 10 years).
• Server logs: retained for up to 30 days, then rotated.

6. Seus direitos

Depending on your country, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you;
• Correct inaccurate information;
• Delete your account and associated data;
• Export your data in a machine-readable format;
• Object to or restrict certain processing;
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

7. Transferências internacionais

PDF Genie is operated from the United Arab Emirates, but our sub-processors (Google, Stripe) may store and process data in the European Union, the United States, and other jurisdictions. Where required by law, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

8. Crianças

PDF Genie is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Segurança

We use industry-standard safeguards: encrypted transport (HTTPS), encrypted data at rest via our cloud providers, and role-based server access. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or stored on the Service.

10. Alterações a esta política

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the site. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
